01 / THE DIFFERENCE

You’ve adapted
enough.

The extra spreadsheet. The duplicate entry. The feature you’re still waiting for. Familiar?

You pay for the software.
Then pay again in workarounds.

Off-the-shelf platforms can be a good fit. But when your team spends more time navigating their limits than doing the work, it’s worth looking at another arrangement.

We build software around an agreed set of business needs, then take responsibility for running and improving it. You get a working service, without having to assemble a software team.

THE LESSVENDOR APPROACHA better fit.
A clearer deal.
Someone accountable.

02 / YOUR STARTING POINT

What are you
working around?

Two ways in.
One better way to work.

APLATFORM REPLACEMENT

The platform
you’ve outgrown.

Spending £50k–£200k a year on a platform that still doesn’t fit? Explore a tailored alternative within a managed subscription.

  • Start with the processes you need to support
  • Assess costs, integrations and the move
  • Agree the service before committing to a build

BSPREADSHEET TO APP

The spreadsheet
holding it together.

That clever spreadsheet has become a business-critical system. Give the process a purpose-built app, without a heavyweight software project.

  • Build around one focused business process
  • Add the access, structure and visibility you need
  • Keep hosting, maintenance and support together

03 / MAKE IT CONCRETE

Same work.
Better arrangement.

What could that look like?
A couple of illustrative examples.

WORKING AROUND IT

One job. Four places to update.

A service business tracks customer requests in a platform, schedules work in a spreadsheet and chases updates by email.

PlatformSpreadsheetEmailManual reporting
BUILT AROUND IT

From request to completion.
In one workflow.

A tailored application could connect job intake, scheduling and status updates, with the reporting the team actually needs.

Scope would depend on requirements, integrations and migration.

04 / THE WHOLE SERVICE

Built for you.
Kept working by us.

You subscribe to working software.
We take care of the moving parts.

01

Designed around the work

Requirements and scope agreed around the processes, people and integrations that matter.

02

Hosted. Maintained. Supported.

One supplier responsible for the application and its ongoing operation, with clear support arrangements.

03

A predictable subscription

An agreed price and service. Clear terms for renewal and any work outside the included scope.

04

Room to keep improving

Agreed improvement capacity, prioritised with you as your business needs evolve.

Modern development methods make the model possible.
Accountability makes it useful.

05 / HOW IT WORKS

First, let’s see
if it makes sense.

A useful conversation.
A clear decision before a build.

01

Understand the friction.

Show us what you use, what it costs and where work gets stuck. We’ll look at the problems worth solving.

02

Define a better arrangement.

Set out the requirements, subscription, responsibilities and transition approach. Establish whether the case stacks up.

03

Build it. Run it. Improve it.

Develop the agreed application, manage the move and provide the ongoing service and agreed improvements.

THE FAIR QUESTIONS

Less ambiguity,
too.

We’re still a vendor.
We’re proposing a better relationship.

Who owns the software and the data?

Lessvendor retains the software IP and provides the application as a managed subscription. Your business owns its data. Data export and exit provisions are set out in the agreement before you commit.

Is development unlimited?

No. We agree the initial scope and the ongoing improvements included in your subscription. Significant new requirements are assessed and priced separately, or included through an agreed change to the service.

Will it cost less than our current platform?

We assess that with you. The comparison needs to include the software, transition, integrations, support and ongoing changes. We’ll establish whether the proposed service makes commercial sense rather than assume a saving.

What happens to our existing system?

We assess the data, integrations and business dependencies before agreeing a transition. The approach depends on the system and the risk involved; a phased move may be more appropriate than replacing everything at once.

Is this AI-generated software?

We use modern development methods, including AI-assisted tools, to deliver software efficiently. Stone Code remains responsible for engineering decisions and the managed service. You buy a working application, with agreed requirements and support.

Who’s behind Lessvendor?

Lessvendor is the managed software brand from Stone Code. The idea is simple: make software tailored to a business viable as an ongoing service, with clear scope and someone accountable for keeping it useful.
